Talent Management in the Public Sector Conference 2009 29 January 2009
On the 20th January 2009 we were delighted to join 300 delegates at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre in Westminster. We arrived to find that we were speaking in the Mountbatten Room as our session, Developing Future Leaders through Talent Management was one of the best subscribed of the day. The session was attended by delegates from all areas of the public sector including central government, executive agencies, local authorities, education, NHS and emergency services.
Our session was well received with all delegates really keen to understand how to identify and develop future leaders through talent management and talent development. Arlene Stone, Head of HR at Bath Spa University joined us to share her experiences and insights with the delegates – we can’t thank Arlene enough for supporting us at this important event.
When we weren’t speaking, we spent the rest of the day exhibiting with a small number of other suppliers. We were overwhelmed by the number of delegates who spoke to us about topics such as talent selection, how to retain talent, how to implement a talent strategy and our favourite subject: talent development. They were all delighted to be entered into our free prize draw which included prizes such as a year’s free membership to The Talent Pool, a free place at our annual conference featuring Dragon’s Den star, Deborah Meaden and Talent Pool logos made from Thornton’s chocolate.
We hope all of the attendees enjoyed the day and were able to come away with new strategies that enable them to hold onto the people that are key to their succession planning.
