A Taste of Corporate Voodoo: our Second Annual Delegate Event 6 July 2010

The Talent Pool held its second Annual Symposium for clients and guests on 24th June 2010.

Talent Pool Conference 2010Rene Carayol, MBE, internationally renowned business guru, media personality and author of “Corporate Voodoo” was this years keynote speaker.

Rene’s session was entitled ‘Extraordinary Leadership for Extraordinary Times’. The session took a good look at how corporate culture and employee engagement determines the customer experience, business results and shareholder value. Rene helped delegates to recognise that they all had a personal leadership code which influences culture and how this is achieved.

Delegates were able to question Rene about his experiences of organizations as well as informally chatting with him over lunch.

Sally Rixon, Talent Pool’s Director of Collaborative Learning said, “We feel very privileged that Rene agreed to join us. He was an excellent and a thoroughly engaging keynote speaker for our delegates. He challenged people to think differently and to take a look at themselves as well as their organisations. Rene always manages to say the things that other people are thinking but haven’t got the courage to say — and he manages to do this so eloquently!”

Thoughts from a Talent Pool delegate

Since enrolling I have dramatically changed the way I view myself, those around me and the work that I do. It has had a profoundly positive impact on my working life.

Adrian Peace, Productivity and Development Manager at National Food Retailer The Co-op said, “The Annual Symposium was a truly engaging experience. It was great to meet up with other Talent Pool members to talk about personal progress and experiences and meet new members. The day was made so special by two outstanding leaders. The presentations were contrasting but both captivating, hugely insightful, inspiring and full of ideas that can be practically adopted. It was a great day.”
